Remember five or so years ago when hexagons were super popular? I must have bought dozens of hexagonal papers in different colors and styles. Then I used maybe a handful or so before setting them aside for something else. Yet, look! Hexagons are having their day again on this layout.
A lot of my hexagon papers are multicolored, but I really like the way this monochromatic paper works as the background. And on that note, let’s talk about the layout.
- I used this layout to inspire my page.
- That purple paper has been in my stash since at least 2001. I’m not kidding. It’s really that old. I like the pop of purple on the floral patterned paper, so I decided to bring this sheet into the modern age. 🙂
- I used a rotary stamp that says “Drink tea and eat cake.” I only inked the “Drink tea” portion, then I crossed off “tea” and handwrote, “Jamba.” Just for a fun, personal touch.
- I love having a swatchbook for all of my spray ink–it helps me choose the colors I want to use on any project.
The vivid colors of this layout made it really fun to create. You can see the process video below.
