Make It Happen Today

You can never have enough layouts about donuts. So here’s another one.

Make It Happen Today

This layout makes me happy. Probably because donuts make me happy.

  • I used this sketch for my layout.
  • I don’t use the color kraft much, but it coordinated with the patterned paper on the left and—importantly—draws the eye to the photo. So it seemed like a great choice to use kraft for the title, which helps it stand out.
  • This page is part of my Memorabilia Medley series. I used part of the bag (the “You deserve a donut” piece) as a main embellishment.
  • I had to add more texture paste once I was finished with the layout because I had covered most of it up with paper layers.

There’s lots more information about the layout. Learn more by watching the process video.

Thank you for watching! See you next time. 🙂

Onstage

I have loads of photos waiting to be scrapped. One thing I don’t scrap as often is memorabilia—and I’ve got a bunch of that too. With this page, I finally got some memorabilia out of storage and onto a page. Hurray!

Onstage

The memorabilia is a program and a ticket for a play my niece did in high school.

Let’s talk more about the layout.

  • I knew that the program would take up a bunch of room on the page, so I didn’t use a sketch for the page. I decided to figure out where the program would go and then just place everything else around it. This worked out all right, though I wouldn’t call this a perfect design. I’m pleased with the page nonetheless.
  • How to adhere the memorabilia is always a question. In this case, I did some hand sewing along the bottom and the two sides of the blue floral paper to create a pocket for the program. Hand sewing is always time consuming, but it wasn’t too bad in this case. As for the ticket, I tucked that behind the photos with most of it in sight.
  • I love the little pops of pink on this page. The pink diecuts and texture paste stand out against the blue and gray on the layout.

I hope you’ll take a few minutes to check out the process video.

Until next time. Be back soon!

This Is Why

Here’s a page about one of my besties.

This Is Why

Let’s jump right in to the layout.

  • This page predominantly uses Felicity Jane products. Even the bag is from the FJ kit. I am finally starting to make a dent in my supply, which is good because I plan to continue being a subscriber.
  • The design of this layout was inspired by a sketch from this Ready, Sketch, Go class. I love how it turned out. If you like sketches, you should definitely give this class a try.
  • I kind of love the wood elements and coordinating stamp set. They are from Elle’s Studio.

You can check out the process video below. It’s part of my Memorabilia Medley series, where I incorporate memorabilia into the layout. In this case, it’s in the pocket. 🙂
