Walk Away

Beauty in Walking Away

Sometimes I just have to walk away. Not from scrapbooking altogether. Never that. Just from my current project. You can see the project in question here.

I’ve got the basics down, but now that it’s time to embellish, I’m stuck. I thought about adding some circles, but they started to take over the page. I want some places to layer and cluster, but I’m not sure where to do it. I will figure this out, but for now it’s time to walk away.

What do you do when you feel stuck on a project?

  1. I generally take a breather and make something else, but leave the layout out and invariably in passing inspiration strikes.

  2. Depends upon my mood. I will either push it to the side and work on something else, or push through and just get it done. It won’t be a “I love it” layout but it will be a “Done is Done” layout.

  3. Put it aside…I have a scrap’ n easel…so put it up with some magnets and it is kinda in view till I think of something.

I actually struggled with one very similar to yours, with vertical elements and pic toward the bottom…and did not come up with a happy solution…so will be interested in seeing yours.

hmmmm, just hit me, maybe a banner type element in one of the top corners to balance the bottom???

  4. I walk away when I get stuck. The ideas come to me while I do something else.

  5. Yes, take a break from it! I’ve been taking a break from a cruise album for, oh, 3 years now?! lol. Sometimes it just doesn’t work. I try not to get too hung up on it. I actually have had pages that sat for quite some time, then all the sudden I get an idea or a new product and voila, its done!
