I am so excited to be involved with a group of scrapbooking YouTubers who are making a dent in their stash! This is our first month, and our focus is on using punches! Here’s my layout for the YouTube hop,
My nephew got married this month, and I loved working with this wedding photo. So without further ado, let’s talk about the layout.
- As I mentioned, the focus of this month’s layout and video is using punches. I used a punch that had a set of three hearts on it. I punched several hearts out of the paper and used them in the two embellishment clusters on this page. Then I took a leftover piece of cardstock that had the hearts punched out and used it as a stencil. I applied several texture paste hearts to my niece-in-law’s dress. Once the paste dried, I added clear Wink of Stella glitter to add a pretty shimmer that helped the hearts stand out.
- Although punches were the primary focus, I also pulled patterned paper from my stash. The floral paper has been part of my stash for more than 10 years. I love that I was able to get it onto a page. The journaling piece is also something that I’ve had a while.
- I did not use a sketch for this. I really wanted the photo to be highlighted, so I had it printed as an 8 x 12 photo and then added two embellishment clusters.
- Once I had almost finished the layout, I wanted to add more dimension. I found the pretty resin flowers in coordinating colors, and I think they look great.
